How the cabinet process works.
Designing a beautiful and functional space takes time, planning, and attention to detail. Our job is to oversee every aspect of the project, so you don't have to.
CABINETS:
Our initial meeting will allow us to get acquainted and to set some conceptual goals. We will identify your priorities and uses for the space.
- How much do you entertain?
- Is this a second home, where most of your meals will be eaten out?
- Are you a gourmet cook?
- Do you enjoy baking?
- Are you left-handed or short in stature?
- Is recycling a priority?
- What countertop appliances will need to be stored?
- Where will brooms, mops and vacuums be kept?
- Do you need space for pet supplies, craft items, or gift wrapping? - Should we conceal computer components and printers?
- Have you designated a convenient spot to drop your keys and purse?
We will explore the options for accessories, woods and finishes, and design elements that would customize your space.
Using your blueprints or rough room measurements, we will put together a bid for cabinetry and countertops, and we will make adjustments to ensure the project stays within your budget. Using 20/20 Design Software, we will create 3D images to help you envision the finished look of the room, and together we'll work through numerous revisions, as we perfect the design.
Once we are satisfied that the design offers all the amenities and features that you desire, a site measurement will follow to ensure that no detail has been overlooked and that the cabinets will fit perfectly upon arrival. You never know when an electrical switch or log detail will introduce a problem. The order is then finalized, and a delivery date will be given to you and your contractor. Depending on the cabinet lines chosen, Crystal Cabinet Works typically has a lead time between 6 to 7 weeks, and Medallion Cabinetry has a lead time between 4 to 6 weeks.
When the delivery truck arrives, we will personally meet the driver, inspect each box for damage, and take a complete inventory. When we are confident that the order has been received in its entirety, we will accompany the truck to your jobsite and supervise the delivery.
Installation follows, either by your contractor or our installer. We will continue to visit the jobsite regularly to answer questions and make sure every detail is checked and double checked and will meet your standards.
INSTALLATION:
If you do not have a contractor to install your cabinets, we can highly recommend our installers, experienced contractors with years in the industry. We trust their skill and attention to detail. We have worked together for years, so they know the product lines and our design style. They can also remove and dispose of old cabinetry and install your cabinet hardware.
COUNTERTOPS:
We work with outstanding countertop fabricators. From quartz to natural stone to solid surface to laminate, these fabricators can make your finished space look fantastic. The turn-around time is quick, and their workmanship is superb. Again, we will accompany them to your jobsite and return with them to oversee the templating and installation.
HARDWARE:
We would be happy to coordinate your hardware order. Bison Lumber is a direct distributor of Emtek Hardware. Their quality and designs are trend-setters, offering excellent products that we can sell to you at affordable prices. You can check their website for styles and finishes by clicking here.
